WASHINGTON — One of the most powerful jobs in biomedical research is running the National Cancer Institute. And Dr. Douglas Lowy would rather not give that up when President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Lowy, currently NCI’s acting director, told STAT in an exclusive interview that he has “no intention of submitting a resignation.”
