In the wee hours of Thursday morning, the Senate took a significant procedural step toward repealing Obamacare.
Legislators passed a budget resolution, by a vote of 51-48, that contains instructions telling House and Senate committees to draw up a draft of a repeal measure — and quickly. Their deadline to file that legislation is Jan. 27.
The aca was not passed using budget reconciliation in 2010. Dems had a super majority to bypass the filibuster.
