Government bureaucrats are not often Twitter celebrities. But Andy Slavitt, head of the agency that runs Medicare and Medicaid, is making a name for himself with a barrage of fiery tweets in defense of the Affordable Care Act, breaking with the traditionally mute posture taken by federal employees.

As the Act — known as Obamacare — is coming under attack by the new Republican-controlled Congress and incoming Trump administration, Slavitt, acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, isn’t being shy online.

  • Funny how a person can go from High-Paid Corporate Guy whose former company was fined for taking advantage of doctors and patients to Public Servant-Defender of the Average Joe.

    And watch now what happens with Andy over the next few months and year. $500 to a worthy charity says he’ll be back in some lofty, high-paying position in the private sector devising schemes to squeeze money out of doctors and patients. Public servant? Made sacrifices to serve others? Pffft!

    • Seems to me, Andy is working hard to hell the average person and am you can do is try to pretend he is a bad guy…

      ACA. Is saving lives, the GOP only want to get rid of it because it has Obama all over it.. It fact ACA is mostly a Republican plan, they just can not get past the Dems being the ones who brought the plan forward..
