WASHINGTON — President Trump on Monday signed an executive order directing federal agencies to cut two regulations for every new one that they adopt, a move that could have significant implications for the Food and Drug Administration.
Trump, who vowed throughout his campaign to ease the burden of government regulations in order to promote innovation, pledged at the signing ceremony that the order would be “the biggest such act our country has ever seen.”
THIS Cures Act is not helping us with infused gamma globulin that saves our lives with immune deficiencies. I must have this to live. I must have it done in a relaxed setting without germs, viruses etc. I am immune deficient. The infusion is not active for 3 days says my oncologist. I am not able to take it any more frequently; not recommended as I am chemical sensitive and live well on this infused blood product. According to the survey, this home infusion is far cheaper than done in a hospital; which is not wise for several reasons. Medicare saves about half the money if done at home and pharmacies do not want to use IVIG gamma globulin any longer due to the Cures Act of January 1, 2017. It is a financial risk for them now; it created a profit magin that is too low. I have called 12 pharmacies and am told they nolonger carry it for this reason yet I am approved for it again due to my CMS letter of Nov 3, 2017. What can you do to correct this? I am a very active 73 yr old and write books people may need to get well. AND Medicare approved under part B (most desirable) and part D.
