Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald will replace Dr. Tom Frieden, who served as CDC director for eight years before stepping down in January.

  • Trump seems incapable of not promoting the sleaziest, greediest people he can find. The swamp water now in Putingrad DC is so concentrated I can smell it all the way in CaliforniaSSR.

I am a firm believer in vaccination but not the CDC schedule of multiple vaccinations at one time. We need to look at children with preexisting conditions as well to determine if the schedule is applicable. I hope Dr. Fitgerald takes that into consideration. I lost my only son two weeks after his dose of 7 vaccinations.

    • I am so sorry to hear this! I have MS induced by the hepatitis b vaccine. 19 days after the initial dose, I lost vision. Now we know that hepatitis b vaccine directly increases PERK, which affects the UPR of the ER, endoplasmic reticulum, resulting in cell apoptosis, the hallmark of MS. When vaccines do this to the islet cells of the pancreas the result is type 1 diabetes. Vaccines are a public health crisis! There is no good reason to vaccinate in the USA. The CDC admits that tb is too small, only 30,000 cases a year, to vaccinate. Yet M. Meningitis is less than 1500 cases a year, with only a 15% risk of death and they recommend people get this dangerous M. Meningitis vaccine. I would never, ever allow my child to have this dangerous drug. Statistically, the risk of death from the m. meningitis vaccine is greater than the risk of dying from natural m. meningitis. Vaccine wears off fast, according to the CDC. There is too much benefit from natural infections, cancer protection, reduced risk of allergies, to vaccinate and take away this natural right.
God Bless you. I will keep you in my prayers for comfort. I am so sorry for the devastating loss of your child from lethal vaccine injection.

  • Vaccines spread infectious disease. Vaccines are a public health crisis. Vaccines induce autoimmune disease. Hepatitis b surface antigen, the main component of the vaccine, increases, perk which affects the upright. This results in cell death. In the brain there is neuron apoptosis, the hallmark of multiple sclerosis. In the beta cells of the pancreas there is the start of type 1 diabetes. That hbsag competes for the same nmda receptor which increases glutamate and may increase insulin resistance, the hallmark of type 2 diabetes should be of great concern. Vaccine induced autoimmune disease is a public health crisis. Infectious disease can lower risk of cancer and also strengthen the immune system. Even the fda sent a warning letter to vaccine manufacturers to remove animal viruses from vaccines, that can cause cancer in humans later on.

    • Tammy, your comment seems to confuse many different issues. My guess is that you are not an immunologist or a medical person.
Vaccines save millions of lives every year.

    • Pam Delargy, Please show me one person, anyone , who has ever been saved by any vaccine ever.

  • “But she does not appear to have a record of having conducted scientific research, a major function of the agency she has been nominated to lead.”

    (sighs deeply)

If she’s at least willing to listen to the results of scientific research, I guess that wouldn’t be too concerning, but no one in this administration has a great track record with that.

  • What a nasty little article from Helen Branswell.

You totally misrepresent what unfolded with the very minor Nathan Deal – Ebola incident way back in 2014.

Quelle surprise that you would take such a hostile position on Dr.Brenda Fitzgerald, who BTW from her CV looks ideally suited to be the new Chief of the CDC. (Like Scott Pruitt with the EPA.)

    Good luck to her !

    • If you think Scott Pruitt is ideally suited to head the EPA, that pretty much tells us everything we need to know about your scientific perspective (or lack thereof).
