SAN FRANCISCO — Investors attending the J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference here still work market hours, which means waking up well before dawn to catch all the biotech news hitting the wires at a reasonable hour on the East Coast.

The news flow announced Sunday afternoon and Monday morning had mostly incremental updates and not necessarily positive ones, leaving the Nasdaq Biotech Index essentially flat. It’s also raining here. The JPM investor sentiment meter might have a hard time ticking past dreary.
