SAN FRANCISCO — “The Michaels!”
That’s how many people greeted me this week at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. They all wanted to talk about the story that I’d written with my colleague Meghana Keshavan, which encapsulated the industry’s male-dominated dynamics with a memorable factoid: Men named Michael giving company presentations outnumbered female CEOs doing the same.
Meghana and I had hoped readers would take interest in our piece. But we never expected the outpouring of conversation it generated. Nor did we anticipate that it would take on a life of its own.
