Congressional leaders are working on a “compromise” of the so-called CREATES Act, a longtime priority for generic drug makers, Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday.

The Wisconsin Republican mentioned the legislation in response to a question about what Congress could do to help lower drug prices, after President Trump gave a much-ballyhooed speech on that issue last week. Ryan didn’t give many specifics in his comments, which came at a Washington event hosted by the law firm BakerHostetler.
