AbbVie and Google parent company Alphabet are each committing $500 million to continue funding the scientists researching aging at the ambitious Alphabet unit called Calico, the two companies announced Tuesday morning.
The extension of the collaboration between AbbVie and Calico, begun in 2014, brings Calico’s total funding to $2.5 billion. Calico wouldn’t say how much of that cash it’s burned through since it was launched in 2013.
