Great article. There are a lot of great ways to use a PhD and a lot of interesting problems to solve in academia, in government, and in the private sector.
My advisor was a bit disappointed when I didn’t choose academia, but I’ve never regretted it and always had interesting problems to work on (and never had to spend a day chasing a grant).
