Next week kicks off the annual gathering of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), one of the health-tech industry’s largest conferences.
As of now, the conference is scheduled to start on Sunday in Orlando, Fla., despite concerns about the spread of Covid-19 that have led several large exhibitors to pull out, including Amazon’s AWS cloud division, Salesforce, Intel, and Cisco, according to CNBC. HIMSS attracts about 45,000 attendees a year from more than 90 countries; the total number registered so far this year is about 37,000, spokeswoman Karen Groppe told STAT.
