Amazon’s sprawling, sometimes stilted approach to employee health care is growing more complicated — and threatens to step on the toes of Haven, the hyped health venture the tech giant launched with JPMorgan Chase and Berkshire Hathaway in 2018.

This week, Amazon announced it will partner with Crossover Health, a venture-backed startup that has inked deals with several major tech players, to build dedicated health clinics for Amazon employees. The first centers will open near Amazon fulfillment centers in Texas, with pilot clinics in four other states to follow. The plan follows the launch of Amazon Care, a virtual health clinic that began serving Seattle employees in February.
