WASHINGTON — In a win for safety-net hospitals, the Supreme Court decided to hear their challenge to the Trump administration’s Medicare pay cuts for discounted drugs.

The decision could create a headache for the Biden administration, as its rule determining pay rates for discounted drugs is under White House review. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra has already had to backtrack in attempts to mediate a separate conflict between drugmakers and hospitals over the same drug discount program.
