Why do more women die in and after childbirth in the U.S. than in any other industrialized nation?
In this week’s episode of the “First Opinion Podcast,” physician Alissa Erogbogbo argues that the only way the country can change this sad state of affairs is by addressing the inherent biases and inequities of traditional health care.
“As we learn to educate ourselves, understand that you’re now going to open the door for that line of communication, that line of understanding, that line of empathy for all patients,” Erogbogbo said.
The conversation stems from Erogbogbo’s First Opinion, “Managed care’s role in protecting women from childbirth-related complications.”
