
WASHINGTON — A top FDA official known for speaking out against controversial drug approval decisions, Ellis Unger, retired this week, he told STAT.
Unger, a 25-year veteran of the FDA, served as the head of the FDA’s Office of Drug Evaluation-I, an office that reviewed drugs for a range of conditions from high cholesterol to Alzheimer’s and depression.
