WASHINGTON — Sens. Joe Manchin and Richard Blumenthal have concerns with President Biden’s rumored nominee for the Food and Drug Administration, Robert Califf, the lawmakers told STAT Tuesday.
Califf met with Biden Friday to discuss the FDA commissioner job. It’s unclear whether Biden formally offered to nominate him for the position, but two sources familiar with the process tell STAT a formal nomination could come as soon as next week.
