WASHINGTON — Robert Califf spent his first confirmation hearing explaining his entanglements with the drug industry to senators as they evaluated his candidacy to helm the Food and Drug Administration under President Obama.
But now, if President Biden puts him forth to lead the FDA again, as sources have told STAT, he’ll have to explain his connection to another industry that’s vilified on Capitol Hill: “Big Tech.”
