Ann MacDonald took painstaking effort to choose the very best surgeon for her mom’s colon cancer surgery. At first, it seemed to have paid off.
“He said, ‘It’s great news. It hasn’t spread to her lymph nodes. She’s lucky,’” MacDonald recalled.
“That was three days before she died.”
