Winners

Merck: If you agree that $2.54 billion is a lot of money, then you would likely agree that Merck was a big winner this week. A federal court jury in Delaware ordered Gilead Sciences to fork over all those dollars after deciding Merck patents on hepatitis C drugs were infringed. It was a pretty complicated case and Gilead is going to appeal, so this story isn’t really over just yet. But still… it’s a lot of money.
