Drug makers: A few pharma execs — including those who head Merck, Lilly, and Johnson & Johnson — met with President Trump this week without getting pummeled. Although Trump complained about “astronomical” prices, he also vowed to reduce regulations and find ways to get products approved faster. By the end of the week, an influential House committee chair backed a bill to provide incentives to develop generics when a lack of competition or a shortage exists. But there was no further talk of forcing brand-name drug companies to lower prices. By Trump standards, this is getting off easy.
