nd so, another working week will soon draw to a close. Not a moment too soon, yes? This is, as you know, our treasured signal to daydream about weekend plans. And even though this will be an extended break on this side of the pond in order to honor a few long-gone presidents, we have a modest agenda. We plan to hang with the short person, visit the Pharmalot ancestors and, as usual, catch up on some reading. A few naps are also in order. But what about you? Given the upcoming US holiday, you could contrast and compare with the latest doings in Washington. Or if that is too demanding, perhaps you could make time to see someone special or take in a moving picture show. Distractions are essential. Well, whatever you do, have a grand time, but be safe. At a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Seema Verma, President Trump’s nominee to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, did not answer questions about whether the US government should negotiate with drug makers, Reuters says. But she did say the way drug makers classify products as generic or branded needs to be reviewed to help reduce government spending, and she cited Mylan Pharmaceuticals and its EpiPen as an example.
