So how did Dr. Scott Gottlieb, who has been nominated to head the Food and Drug Administration, do during his Senate testimony? By most accounts, he parried questions deftly and looks to win the job, especially since he appears to be a more mainstream choice compared to some other names that were floated. But brand-name drug makers likely noted some warning signs as he indicated he favors steps to speed approvals of generics and biosimilars.
Call me cynical but those ad buys will become much more expensive on Bill’s show now that his Nielsen ratings increased by 20% just in time for the April/May sweeps. This would also explain why Phat Pharma didn’t pull its ads after Ailes got dumped, as it had no effect on the Nielsens.
