Pfizer received grand jury subpoenas from the Justice Department in connection with an antitrust investigation into drug makers that market intravenous saline solutions. ICU Medical, which recently acquired Hospira Infusion Systems from Pfizer, and Baxter International also received subpoenas. In 2015, three US senators asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate possible illegal collusion by saline manufacturers.
