Four states that have the death penalty — Arkansas, Arizona, Mississippi, and Virginia — are stockpiling drugs for lethal injections that could be used in tens of thousands of potentially lifesaving medical operations, the Guardian writes, citing a study. The medicines could otherwise be used for treating 11,257 patients in surgeries and other possibly life-or-death procedures.
