And so, another working week will soon draw to a close. Not a moment too soon, yes? This is, as you know, our treasured signal to daydream about weekend plans. And our agenda is rather modest. We plan to attend a cool happening, but otherwise, expect to manicure the Pharmalot grounds and hang with the short people. And what about you? The great outdoors beckons, you know. So perhaps this is a good time to head toward a beach or lake, or simply take a long drive. You could cozy up with a good book. Or plan the rest of your life. Alexion Pharmaceuticals is under investigation by the Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Bloomberg News reports, and the probe is related to its support for charities that aid Medicare patients, which is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts. Alexion was recently caught in a scandal in which management pressured employees to convince customers to order drugs to meet financial targets.


A former employee of Martin Shkreli’s hedge fund revealed how the fund “imploded” from a failed stock trade in February 2011 and left him depressed CNBC says. “Martin … [was] just slumped in his chair, his hoodie up, and depressed in a way I had never seen before. When the firm had imploded, all that energy just sort of deflated,” said Caroline Stewart. “Everything was quiet. The lights were not turned on. People stopped coming into work.”
