Amazon (AMZN) has received approval for wholesale pharmacy licenses in at least 12 states, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. These include Nevada, Arizona, North Dakota, Louisiana, Alabama, New Jersey, Michigan, Connecticut, Idaho, New Hampshire, Oregon, and Tennessee, underscoring mounting speculation the company is poised to enter the pharmacy business. Not surprisingly, the news sent shares in drugstore chains down.
