Late last week, a feisty compounder called Cantrell Drug entered into a consent decree with the Food and Drug Administration. The move capped months of intense legal wrangling and sometimes public bickering over the safety of its medicines. For now, though, the company cannot make any products, such as injectable opioids and antibiotics, until it fixes its operations.
