The pressure that the pharmaceutical industry is applying on the Colombian government is starting to have an effect.

Its membership in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an intergovernmental trade group, was recently delayed until reviews are completed by two different committees that are waiting for the Latin American government to make policy changes toward drug approvals and patents. An OECD spokeswoman confirmed the extension.
