The West Virginia Attorney General denied reports that a $34 million settlement is about to be reached with McKesson (MCK), the pharmaceutical wholesaler, over its role in the opioid crisis, The Charleston Gazette-Mail writes. High-ranking state health and public safety officials privately criticized the proposed settlement, saying the company should pay a much higher price. Among the critics was U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, who is running for re-election against Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.
