As Cardinal Health grapples with criticism of its role in the opioid crisis, a group of four state treasurers is opposing its decision to re-appoint a board member who previously served at a time when the distributor was fined by federal authorities for allowing controlled substances to be diverted.

The treasurers from Connecticut, Illinois, Rhode Island, and Vermont voted against re-nominating J. Michael Losh to the board ahead of the company’s annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday.
