Seeking to push back on the negative image of the biopharmaceutical industry, executives representing over 150 small and mid-sized companies, along with investors and academics, signed an open letter outlining a commitment to place the interests of patients ahead of profits. However, the signatories do not include executives from the largest drug makers and biotechs. The letter, published in STAT, stated a commitment to “reasonable” price increases and achieving “broad patient access,” among other things.
