Rick Bright, the ousted head of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, filed a whistleblower complaint alleging he was involuntarily transferred to a lower job at the National Institutes of Health because he raised concerns about the Trump administration Covid-19 response and nepotism in the Department of Health and Human Services, STAT says. In particular, he alleged he was pressured by HHS Secretary Alex Azar to allow distribution of hydroxychloroquine, an unproven treatment for Covid-19 championed by President Trump.
