The European Medicines Agency reported that the Covid-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca (AZN) was “safe and effective” and did not increase the risk of blood clots, a decision that prompted several major bloc members — including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands — to say they would resume inoculation campaigns, The Wall Street Journal writes. European Union authorities hope the EMA statement will put a problem-plagued vaccination campaign back on track and overcome mistrust of the AstraZeneca shot.
