A European Medicines Agency official told an Italian news site that there is a link between the AstraZeneca (AZN) Covid-19 vaccine and blood clots, Agence France Presse writes. Persistent questions on whether rare but serious blood clots among those getting the shot are more frequent than in the general population have undermined confidence in the beleaguered vaccine. After several countries suspended use of the vaccine, the EMA said the benefits outweigh the risks and it should remain in use, but an updated assessment is expected this week.
