Following a huge backlash that flared after the Journal of the American Medical Association aired a podcast and posted a tweet questioning whether structural racism exists in medicine, the American Medical Association said editor-in-chief Howard Bauchner will step down at the end of June, STAT writes. The move was seen as a major victory for physicians of color, and their white allies, who were so angered by the podcast and the associated tweet, which read “No physician is racist, so how can there be structural racism in healthcare?”
