Centene (CNC), a major health insurer, agreed to pay a combined $143 million to Ohio and Mississippi to settle allegations that a pharmacy benefits subsidiary overcharged the state Medicaid programs.

In addition, the company set aside $1.1 billion for future settlements with several other unnamed states, which reportedly include Kansas and Arkansas. We asked Centene, which denied any liability, for comment concerning those negotiations and will update you accordingly.
