And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Nitrase Therapeutics hired Pierre Beaurang as chief executive officer. Previously, he worked at Nurix Therapeutics, where he was most recently the chief business officer. He was also a founding member of Five Prime Therapeutics.

But all work and no play makes for a dull chief executive officer. So in his spare time, Beaurang likes to cook — his favorite dish is paella — and to go mountain biking at Mount Tamalpais State Park in Marin County, Calif. “The peak is about 2,500 feet, not that much. I go as far as possible up the mountain, depending on the day. If I can summit in one single ride in maybe two hours, I’m happy. I usually go by myself. It’s a spur-of-the-moment thing. But when I do have two hours?”
