An expert committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on vaccines voted unanimously to recommend Covid-19 booster-shot eligibility be thrown open to all adults 18 and older, STAT informs us. The group also voted to lower the age for adults who should be urged to get a booster. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky quickly signed off on the changes.
A pair of European investment groups are considering a joint offer for Sandoz, Novartis’s (NVS) generics business, Reuters reports. The offer, from EQT and the Struengmann family office, would value Sandoz at about $20 billion. Novartis has said it is considering all options for Sandoz, including selling the division and spinning it out as an independent business.
