Anna Vlasits is a fifth-year PhD student in neuroscience at UC Berkeley and was a AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellow at STAT. She has researched the retina, hearing loss, and animal behavior, with papers published in Neuron and Hearing Research. She received her BA at Columbia University in 2009, where she majored in neuroscience and behavior. She is an editor of the Berkeley Science Review. Anna’s favorite things to do in her spare time are knit and read with her toddler.
