Visiting Nieman Fellow
Bethany Mollenkof was a visiting Nieman Fellow for STAT. She is currently documenting health inequities exacerbated by the pandemic in the rural South. Her photography uses a thoughtful approach to tell complex stories about race, class, and access to health care in underserved communities. Her work has been published in the New York Times, TIME, National Geographic, and others. She graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she studied photojournalism and art history. She loves running and eating a good meal with loved ones.
