Lisa Raffensperger, former senior news editor, came to STAT from Discover, where she was the web editor for three years. Before that she variously spent time at the Economist, National Public Radio, National Science Foundation, and wherever had free Wi-Fi. Lisa holds a biology degree from the University of Iowa and studied science journalism at City University London.
