Melissa Bailey was a reporter covering patient care and medical education. After earning a math degree from Yale University, Melissa spent eight years as a reporter and managing editor at the New Haven Independent in Connecticut, a national leader in not-for-profit online news. She joined STAT fresh off of a Nieman journalism fellowship at Harvard University.
