Robert Califf

Robert Califf is a cardiologist currently serving a second term as Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. He was first nominated by President Obama in 2015, and brought back as FDA commissioner in 2021 by President Biden. He’s also known for his work on Google Health initiatives, including Verily Life Sciences; his well-cited history as a medical author and researcher, and his sometimes controversial connections with the pharmaceutical industry.
